My heart swings back and forth between the need for routine and the urge to run.

I took another sip of my iced latte and wiped the residue of my “Passion Red” lipstick off the straw.
Moments ago, a man walking by me on the street had bluntly shouted that it was sexy, then scuttered away.
I pouted my rouge lips and swallowed the man’s half sincere compliment with another gulp of milk and espresso. As I waited for the train, I thought about the men who stared and the men who whistled cat calls as they sped by me. These men want me, but girls would never want to be me. People shouldn’t want to be like a train, where bodies come and go without remorse. Wouldn’t you rather be a home? I want to be a destination, not just the transportation.

Learn the difference between a man who flatters you and a man who compliments you. A man who spends money on you and a man who invests in you. A man who views you as property and a man who views you properly. A man who lusts after you and a man who loves you.
